Dumb Things I Gotta Do

Did anyone else out there have a memo pad with that printed on it?  Like, in the 1970s?

I'm sitting here in my bathrobe and slippers, sipping coffee, and thinking about the things I want to get done today.   Yes, I'm procrastinating.  Well, not really.  I'm taking my morning coffee and computer time.  It's just that I slept until 9:30 (staying up until 2 a.m. will do that to a girl).

I'm going to make a list of stuff to do today.  As I accomplish each task, I'll cross it off.

Pretty neat, huh?  Because if the internet knows, then I HAVE to do all these dumb things.

  • Take a shower
  • Get dressed
  • Organize books into give away and take with piles
  • Empty and reload the rasafrackin' dishwasher
  • Cook beef bourguignon
  • Start going through personal papers
  • Contact utility companies
  • Call vet (or walk down there)
  • Clean off shelf in kids' room to give to friend P; move shelf to entryway
  • Get to the P.O.

I didn't have a note pad that says that... Although I think I wish I did. I make lists a lot too and mark things off as I accomplish them. Erick thinks its pretty obsessive but hey... it gets the damn work done!

I never had one of those, though I did have a postcard with the following statement:

"To remove any possible doubt, let me assure you that I am not God."

Someone had scored out the word "not" with a red pen. Changed my whole outlook on life.

must...have...this...notepad.

I need to start making lists too, especially a dumb things to do list.

 thanks for the laugh

I don't get much done without lists. It's like if it's not on paper I don't have to do it right?

I'm sure I got one of those "dumb things" notepads as a stocking stuffer one Christmas when I was 8yo. You just jarred a memory.

Seems as if most of the day-to-day things fit in that category.

It must be so hard to part with books.

I wonder if making a list on the net would make me actually accomplish something? Other than being Most Slothful.

PS At least you don't have a Pet Rock. That's just too 70's!
