This is not the road the house is on, but it's close enough. Walk down a ways, turn right onto another dirt road (right where those white specks are in the photo; those are kids, running to the house), walk over the corrugated steel "tube" the creek runs through, go up the hill a bit, and turn onto the lane. Walk another few hundred yards until you come to a clearing. There's the house. This is the place we'd go for a month every summer when I was a kid. It's one of my favorite places in this world.
Tomorrow morning Allan and I are heading to Pennsylvania for a "work weekend" there. My dad recently had some major improvements made on the place, and now it needs some finishing touches. Okay, so it needs a lot of things done, not just finishing touches. Who am I kidding?
So the four of us and our significant others are gathering to work. My brother Nate knows what all needs to be done. I'm just going with able arms and hands. I suppose, however, it is a family reunion of sorts. I expect to have an excellent -- if tiring -- weekend. May yours be excellent as well.

It looks like a great place for kids. We are going to Pennsylvania this summer for, what else, gymnastics. We'll be in Hanover. Last time we were there, we were around Philadelphia and really enjoyed it. It's a wonderful state, except for the funky liquor laws.

I would love to ride my bike down your road.

as much as I like woods - this long wood path remembers me to an endless trip I had last summer in our woods here in Germany about 40 km away from Nuremberg while I tried to find a shortcut from one village to another far away village on the country side - I did not know, that we have such big, such forlorn, such lonely & maze-like woods here around - endless paths like on your picture, with crossings without signs - leading to no-wherer - I always took 'straight-on' or 'left' for my vague idea of the right direction I had in mind on these endless wood-roads - I feared that darkness would come before I'd find the exit & needed about 2 hours on my bike to reach a regular road leading to real places in our common world.
