I Need Help

One of the things I've been meaning to do is revamp my About page. I updated it after I moved back to the States, but it completely sucks still needs work. I've seen some bloggers let their readers ask them questions, and that's what I'm going to do.

My blog is going to have a FAQ (cleverly disguised as an About page), and you're going to write half of it. Ask me your burning questions in the comments to this entry. Since I will answer these in a collective manner, I probably won't respond to your comment like I usually do. Please don't hate me for this.

If you want to ask something anonymously, send your question to alisonATalithinksDOTcom (yes, I have a domain name; I'll let you know when I move on up to it). Likewise, if you want the world to know that it's YOUR QUESTION, DAMMIT, let me know and I will give you linkage on the new About page.

Here's the caveat: I reserve the right to not answer questions if they invade my personal space, if they give me the heebeejeebees, or if I just don't feel like it.

Now have at it.

Alright... You ready for all my questions? ;)

1) What brought you from France to the US? I can't imagine why someone would leave France. :)

2) Who are your heroes? Personal and photographer heroes?

3) What inspires you?

4) What is a day in the life of Ali like?

5) Are you proficient in French and English both? Or more one than the other?

6) Where do you wish to be in ten years?

7) What are your top ten sites visited daily?

8) How often do you read others' blogs? How often do you comment on others' blogs?

9) Who are your favorite musicians?

10) What are your favorite (or the most influential) books, albums, movies of all time?

So what besides weird questions gives you the heebeejeebees?

hey no fair gina gets to ask ten??!! lol... I'm thinking. I'll get back to you.

hey no fair gina gets to ask ten??!! lol... I'm thinking. I'll get back to you.

Alison:

Am I falling out of this chair?
Is this a pimple or a boil?
White or whole wheat?
Would you care for some fresh ground pepper?
What is the meaning of life?
Do these pumps match my purse?
Does this milk smell funny?
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

ohh, this is going to be fun!

1: do you have hairy toes? it's hard to tell from an avitar in another world. that's not some weirdo question. it's just that you post your feet often, and without sufficient resolution to determine toe conditions. personally, i think you are hiding something like hobbit genes or something.

2: after your experience teaching in france, do you think you would ever teach in a classroom setting again? as a permenant teacher? as a substitute?

ok, i'll let someone else play

- After so many years spent in France what was the most difficult adjustment being back in the USA

- Do you (maybe you never did) still dream/speak to yourself/think in French

- A difficult one that you don't need to answer. How to you cope on a day to day basis not being with your kids.

- What is the biggest difference you see between France and USA

- Do you miss Europe

tks Pauline

How's your career in photography going?
Were you a teacher here in the US before going to France?

Who do you want to be when you grow up?

What is your most cherished memory of France?

Have you been eating? You look thin.

What has remained eerily similar here in the States since you left lo those many years ago?

Panties: Thigh high, bikini, boy-cut, granny panties or "Commando"?

What was the make/model of your first car and how did it meet it's demise?

While Allan is your main man, do any other bloggers get you all tingly in the right places (I know *I* do it for every woman on this planet, but alas, I blog no more)?

What was your favorite breakfast cereal growing up, and what is it now?

Pluto: Planet, asteroid or animated canine denied the upright skeletal structure, verbal skills and opposable thumbs given to that fool, Goofy?

Very cool idea :)

Okay, everyone is asking what it was like leaving France. I'd actually be interested in reading what your first day was like as a person who Lives In France! :)

Also, have you ever named a pet or one of your children after something or someone that meant a lot to you AND what was the name :)

Hope those aren't too personal but if so, feel free to ignore. I get where you're coming from with the personal stuff. lol

I love Europe. And as such:

1. What is your favorite part about living overseas? What is your least favorite part?
2. Same question, but about the USA.

You get to chose your last meal. In detail, it is? Please include all beverages and deserts.

Guess what. You lucked out. You got to include both you last breakfast and lunch too. You will be normally hungry for each meal. Enjoy!

Emeril Lagasse OR Alton Brown?

I'll admit to not having read contributions from all the kind folks above. So, here are my questions:

1. Hey, you lived in France. How'd that happen?
2. Hey, you live with Alan. How'd that happen? (sense a theme?)
3. So, you're trapped on a desert island - what five books do you take?
4. Five albums?
5. Hey, you take lots of pictures. How'd you get into that?
6. Having lived abroad, how are you now most disillusioned with the US, your home?

k...here's mine

which do you prefer: being a blonde, redhead, or brunette?

favorite song this month?

favorite color?

sleep on side, back or tummy?

This is a brilliant idea, which I may very well steal from you. Mais, merde quand même, les autres ont déjà pris un tas de mes questions. M'enfin, voilà quand même:

1. What's your tattoo, and where is it located?
2. You have said before that you would never teach again, what is it about teaching that you hate?
3. What is your favorite thing about Pittsburgh?
4. What is the thing you really hate about Pittsburgh?
5. Besides your kids, what is the one thing that you miss the most about France (I am aware too that your kids are not "things," by the way...)?
6. When you lived in France, what was the one thing that you missed the most about the U.S.?

Does it bother you when people spell your name the wrong way?

What do you want to do when you grow up?

If your life were points on a compass what would we see at the four major points?

If you discovered a new land what would you call it, how would you populate it and what would you do with it?

1. If you could travel anywhere on (or in) the planet to photograph, where would you go?

2. Your philosophy of the photograph--what single piece of advice would you give to other aspiring photographers?

3. You need cheering up--what movie do you pop in the DVD player?

4. You're channel surfing--what TV show or movie causes you to stick and watch that show to the end, each and every time? (Guilty pleasures encouraged here.)

5. If you could be any writer (alive or dead) who would it be?

6. If you could be any artist (alive or dead) who would it be?

How'd you meet Allan?

What would you do with a million dollars?

If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?

What's your favorite flavor of chewing gum?

Aisle seat or window seat?

Oh, so many good questions!

1) Why did you start blogging?
2) What, if any, aspects of French life and/or culture, do you miss?
3) If you could live anywhere in the world (assuming you had Allan and the kids with you and all other dependents were ok!), where would you live?

Some questions for you:

What is your favourite restaurant?

Do you believe that Organic is better?

What is your piece of clothing?

How did you aquire your love of food and music?

I really and truly just want to know why your feeds (and Aallns) are not working for me again. Of all the feeds I get. Just yours.

Oh. And when are you coming up to Pete.

Two questions.
