Phone calls at this hour of the blessed morning never bode well, they say.
My cell phone rang, and I let it ring until it stopped. Of course, I was awake, thinking of all the bad things that could have happened. So I got up and checked -- there was voicemail from my ex-husband.
I listened. "Call me back as soon as possible."
I called back. Someone made an offer on our house, he needed to make a counteroffer, and wanted to know if I agreed with the price he'd decided on.
"Can it wait, like, three hours?"
"Not really."
I really need to turn off my cell phone before I go to bed.

Wot? The real estate market that hot in France.
Calls you at 11:15 AM his time, had the deal done by 1:00 PM! Time for a leisurely lunch before his cinq-à-septs

I am fortunate enough to be able to sleep through my phone ringing. Especially, if it's a call that I'd rather not take at the moment.

He doesn't get "time zones", does he? He also should realize that he'd get only a slightly more coherant response at that hour than if you were completely drunk.

Well, we could do it my way. I am offering my services as a buyer's agent for a mere 3% of the price of the real estate. In the future, he can call me. I have a few rule he mill adhere to. He can call anytime. No charge during business hours from 9:00 to 5:00 EST or +5 GMT, please adjust for daylight savings time. There is a 5% penalty for calling outside business hours. He can adjust. Also, we conduct all business in a civilized manner, in English, the official language of business here. French is no longer the International language. He will simply have to adapt. We are known as the Melting Pot for a reason. Mai oui. Finally, I will need some form of identification. And I will NOT accept his driver's license. he can get an International license from our State Department. he'll need that license he has translated to English by a government accepted tranlator, and then pass a government designed test, if he can pass it. I'm not sure, but I don't think we recognize France at the moment. Doesn't matter.
Now, as for your 3%. I need some work done on my blog. I have split hairs, and my infinitives need bleaching. And I have a couple of propositions just running wild. What's a CEO to do?

When I bring my cell phone to my room, and I don't silence it I wake myself up to the cell alarm which I set for 5:15 am.
I always make darn sure I set my cell phone on silence.
 and have a good rest.

I have mine on silent most of the time which frustrates my child when she's trying to call me. (about 10 voice mails!)
